Court summons FG, ASUU
The National Industrial Court, NIC, has gathered the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to show up before it tomorrow, Monday, in Abuja, over the extended strike by individuals from ASUU that has closed the country’s college framework since February.The call followed the reference of the extended debate between the Federal Government and ASUU to the NIC by the Minister of Labor and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige.

In an instrument of reference in accordance with the Trade Disputes Act. CAP T8, Law of the Federation of Nigeria (LFN), 2002, National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN), among others, is to “Ask into the legitimateness or in any case of the on-going delayed strike by ASLU administration and individuals which had proceeded with even after worry by the Minister of Labor and Employment.
“Decipher completely the arrangements of Section 18, LFN 2004 particularly as it applies to discontinuance of strike once an exchange question is captured by the Minister of Labor end Employment and mollification is on-going.

“Decide if ASUU individuals are qualified for remittance or “strike pay” during their time of current strike which started on February 14, 2022. all the more so considering our public regulation as given in Section 48 of the Trade Disputes Act and the International Labor Principles on the Rights to Strike as well as the Decisions of the ILO Committee on Freedom of Association regarding the matter.
“Decide if ASUU has the option to leave protesting over debates similar to the case in this example by convincing the Federal Government to send University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) created by ASUU in the installment af the wages it its individuals as against Integrated Payrall and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) all around involved by the Federal Government in the country for installment of wages of every one of her Employees (Workers) in the Federal Government Public Service of which college laborers including ASUU individuals are important for, even where the Government by means of NITDA oppressed the ASUU and their partner SSANU/NASU, UPPPS University Payment Platform System programming to trustworthiness test (Vulnerability and Stress Test) and they bombed same.
“Decide the degree of satisfaction of ASUU’s requests by the Federal Government as follows since the 2020 Memorandum of Action with Federal Government : Funding for Revitalisation of Public Universities according to 2009 Agreement, Earned Academic Allowances (EAA) installments, State Universities Proliferation, Constitution of Visitation Panels/Release of White Paper on report of Visitation Panels, Reconstitution of Government Renegotiation Team for the renegotiation of 2009 Agreement which was revised 2013/2014 and due for re-discussion by 20/8/2019, and The movement of ASUU individuals from IPPIS to University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) created by ASUU which is at present on test at Nigeria Technological Development Agency’ NITDA.
“Issue ORDER for ASUU individuals to continue work in their different Universities while the issues in question are being tended to by the NICN in consonance with the pravisions of Section 18 (1) (b) of the Trade Act. CAP, 18. LFN 2004. ”
