STMBT ENDORSES DIST. SEN. DR. EMMANUEL BWACHA CON AND HON. DANJUMA USMAN SHIDI
Ladies and Gentle Men of Press
Today being 14th day of March 2022 we the Sons and Daughters from Southern Taraba under the platform of SOUTHERN TARABA MOVEMENT FOR BETTER TOMORROW (STMBT), a.k.a the Voice of reason and awakening Conscience, are gathered here to address the public. It is imperative to hold this press conference in the light of political permutations going on within the State and beyond, and to express our true position about our choice and resolve as far as Taraba State is concerned. It may interest the public and all concerned to know that Taraba is the Third largest State in the country in terms of landmass with abundant mineral deposits distributed across the State. Some of these minerals, such as; Baryte in Ibbi and Karim Lamido, Bauxite in Sarduna, Graphites in Gashaka, Limestone in Ardokola, we have Kaolin in Donga, Mica in Gassol, Feldpar in Jalingo etc.
However, despite these rich natural resource endowments, the State has continue to suffer serious setbacks in all ramification over the years, and this may not be unconnected to lack of visionary Leadership, and the absent of political will to develop the State. The State has no strong foundation on which the erected floors were laid, thereby given false economic ennoblement for the structures to thrive on with faulty landmarks. Successive leaders who took over the reins of the State and in response to external sociopolitical forces, continue lying ‘blocks on an already faulty structures, and rather, unfortunately, they dealt the State a mortal blow by further weakening the foundations.
The State Currently is in dire need of a leader with foresights, who understands the politics of the State, the economic system of the State and with full potential and influence for wooing investors to the State by formulating principles that can attract them, using interests rights and power to protect their investments. Yes! Principles like reduce restriction on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), provide open transparent and dependable conditions for all kinds of firms whether foreign or domestic including ease of doing business, access to import, relatively and flexible labour Market. We need a leader who can build infrastructures, revive our educational sector, our comatose Health care Centers, revamp Agricultural sector restore the lost glory of our traditional institutions and create jobs for our teeming youths roaming the street.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, “Better tomorrow” is not a wishful thinking, is a product of hard work and dedication. It is time we rise and be part of the change we desire to see than just watching from the distance. We have the ability to change the narratives and to give the upcoming generation reason to smile and posterity will sure be kind to us. Dear Listener, these and many other reasons informed our collective decision to Endorse the Candidature of Dist. Sen. Dr. Emmanuel Bwacha CON and Hon. Danjuma Usman Shidi as the more suitable Candidates with Political Intellectual, right mental psychology and socioeconomic fitness to pilot the affairs of the State as Governor and Senator come 2023 under the umbrella of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Emmanuel Bwacha CON is a Nigerian politician who was first elected to served the people of Donga in the State House of Assembly as Member and was later nominated to the seat of Majority Leader and later appointed as Commissioner for Agriculture from 1999-2003. He later contested and won the seat of Takum/Donga/Ussa Federal Constituency in the House of Representative between 2003-2007,
In 2011 a clarion call was made to this parliamentarian to contest, of which he did contested and won the election to represent the good people of Southern Taraba Senatorial District between 2011-2015, 2015-2019 and 2019-2023 respectively, thus making him a third term Senator in the history of the said Senatorial District. We strongly believe in the leadership prowess and foresight of the Dist. Sen. He has all it takes to chart uncharted territory for the good and benefits of all and sundry. Have you ever heard the expression, “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it”? That phrase undoubtedly was coined by someone who had trouble seeing the big picture. The world was built by people who “crossed bridges” in their minds long before anyone else did. The only way to break new ground or move into uncharted territory is to look beyond the immediate and see the big picture..
Dear Listeners, It may also interest you to hear few of the credentials of our incoming Senator. Hon.Usman Danjuma Shidi also known as Danji SS is a Nigerian politician and legislator currently representing the Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. Shidi is currently the Chairman House Committee on Internal Security at the green chamber of the National Assembly. Before now, he had worked as secret police with the department of SSS of the Federal republic of Nigeria where he discharged his duty professionally. You may also want to know that the ongoing construction of Ibbi bridge, the newly constructed alphalt road at old BB in Wukari and diverse scholarships to students from his constituency to mention but few, of the dividends of democracy given to his people via his leadership.
Tarabans, having carefully evaluated the giant strides of Sen. Bwacha and Hon. Danji SS, we cannot turn back, we cannot walk alone, for we know Sen. Bwacha and Hon. Danji SS to be the beacon of light for our tomorrow. We say in “Bwa-Dan” we have the mirror for Better Tomorrow.
To this end, the Southern Taraba Movement for Better Tomorrow make bold to say, Sen. Bwacha and Hon. Danji SS our Hope! Our Believe and our Ballots thumb.
