Voters’ Registration No Longer Ending On June 30- INEC

A Federal High Court in Abuja had prevented INEC from terminating the continuous citizen enrollment work out.
The court managed by Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon on Monday allowed a request for in-between time directive controlling INEC from carrying out its June 30 cutoff time.
The court allowed the request subsequent to hearing an ex parte movement by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and 185 concerned Nigerians.
SERAP and different offended parties had moved to control INEC from halting the citizen enrollment practice after the Commission expanded the cutoff time for the direct of primaries by ideological groups by six days.
In the suit FHC/L/CS/1034/2022 which was recorded against INEC at the Federal High Court, Lagos and moved to Abuja, SERAP requested that the court proclaim the citizen enrollment cutoff time as unlawful and illegal.
The gathering requested that the court “announce unlawful, unlawful, and incongruent with global principles the disappointment of the electing body to expand the cutoff time for citizen enlistment to permit qualified Nigerians to practice their freedoms”.
